I love you, Soda Pop Guy.

I have clients who admit to me, shamefaced, that they hide things about themselves. “I’m too weird,” they say. “I’m too intense, I need to tone it down.”

To them, I say: meet the Soda Pop Guy.

Soda Pop Guy is weird. He is intense. And he is utterly fucking mesmerising.

Is it possible to carve out a niche in a larger market if you don’t have a huge range of offering?

Dentists tell me that after soda water it is a good idea to rinse your mouth with normal water. The soda is a very mild acid and not good for your teeth (with sugar it is far worse).

This looks like a long tail strategy to me.

    I do like him.

Yes, it’s definitely possible to choose your niche without delivering a wide range. I mean, all the bottlers he buys from sell one tiny product, and have in some cases been doing so successfully for 100 years!

When you find what makes you happy, just go with it – you’ll find ways of being successful no matter how many Big Guys are out there!

Partly BECAUSE of the big guys, I think!

        You’re not wrong there! :)

I really like him! Dude knows his stuff and I’ve been personally challenged to consume more information about my niche just by watching him. He’s passionate… I love it!

Thanks for the comment, Jenni! I’m so glad he was motivating for you.

OMG HE IS! That’s amazing. What I learned: It’s ok to say no to something that isn’t right for you and/or your people. It’s ok to be honest. Listening to people talk about something they’re passionate about is FASCINATING. You don’t have to go huge to be successful. Don’t just look up to the people “above” you — look around at the people on your same “level.” (Also…I love this man. He knows about corn allergies. I have one of those!!)

I want to try these sodas SO BAD OH MAN – rose soda!

And hell yeah – passion is attractive. It’s magnetic. The more you show it, the better you do!

Ahhh!!! I love him, too! :) When I started watching the clip and saw it was 13 mins, I thought that I would only watch a little bit of it, but I couldn’t stop watching! He was indeed mesmerizing! :)

I know, right? I went to get the link and the video played and I thought, “Aww, I don’t need to watch this again.” But I did. :)

I liked his honesty and respect. And that he believed that the world was full of different people, different tastes and different choices. He also explained *why* he did business the way he does.

Even “crazy passionate” people know more about nutrition than the medical community.

Don’t drink diet soda – just drink half the serving of a regular soda? What a smart guy, he should be running the FDA.

OMG, I LOVE soda pop! And rose and cucumber sound delicious to me! Especially the rose! I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on those! Thanks for sharing!
